In partnership with the
Canadian Grain Commission (CGC), the Canadian Soybean Council (CSC) helps coordinate the collection of harvest samples of the soybean crop across Canada. We encourage soybean producers to submit samples on an annual basis to establish a representative sample that will help determine overall new crop quality.
The Harvest Sample Program is an independent assessment of crop quality. The producers who participate can obtain their grade, oil and protein content for each sample they submit. The information gathered can identify specific quality traits that buyers may prefer, as well as any potential problems.
Comparisons will be made to the previous year’s quality data. Long-term data illustrates that Canada is a consistent supplier of a high quality product. Results from this survey are published and posted on the
CGC’s website, as well as being made available to potential sellers and buyers. In addition, the quality results of the food-type soybeans are published annually in the Canadian Soybean Dispatch, which reaches current and potential buyers in export markets.
